Celebrate the 105th anniversary of The Historic Elks Opera House on Saturday, February 20, 2010, exactly 105 years from her first night.
It’s an Open House from 5 to 9 PM. Ghosts from the past will make an appearance; entertainers from our own time will be there; but best of all you can see the old girl in her ‘before’ state, without the grand finery that is coming in the months ahead. Free and Open to the public this is a fundraiser to ensure that all the fine embellishments and finishing touches that all ladies need are in place when she makes her ‘after’ appearance next July. We are in the final stages and we need everyone’s help, so whether your donation is large or small please be a part of making her summer debut a stunning one.

The Elks Opera House will be closed beginning July 1, 2009 into 2010 to get a beautiful facelift. Thanks to a Million Dollar Gift from the James family the Elks Opera House will get some much needed attention. Some of the work to be done includes restoring the box seats, Getting new seats in the house and restoring the beautiful tin ceiling, stenciling and plasterwork throughout the theater. Goals also include updating the gridwork on the stage, along with the lighting and sound equipment as well. We are looking forward to an even more beautiful Elks Opera House in 2010.
