We have been monitoring the recent developments involving the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) and Central Arizona Fire and Medical Authority (CAFMA) Chief Scott Freitag. The Prescott Fire Department maintains strong relationships with the IAFF and CAFMA to support our mission of providing services to our residents and visitors.
Due to our close proximity, Prescott Fire and CAFMA have established automatic aid agreements and have a longstanding history of cooperation aimed at safeguarding our community. This collaboration results in cost savings for both organizations; however, the funding and policy direction for fire services within city limits are entirely managed by the City of Prescott. Likewise, residents of Prescott do not pay taxes, fees, or assessments for CAFMA emergency response services.
We sincerely hope for a quick and amicable resolution to this matter. In the interim, we are confident that automatic aid agreements with CAFMA and our collaborative efforts will continue to protect our community as usual.
