A beloved community hub offering a range of recreational activities for residents and visitors. Families often gather here for picnics, enjoying the serene ambiance while children play on the playgrounds. Additionally, the park hosts various events and gatherings, fostering a sense of community and promoting an active, outdoor lifestyle. A.C. Williams Park stands as a testament to Prescott’s commitment to providing accessible and enjoyable green spaces for everyone to appreciate and utilize.
The following is important information regarding West Granite Creek Park.
The City recently installed large boulders at the entrance to prevent vehicles from parking in the park area. This is a temporary but necessary measure while we work toward long-term improvements. The City plans to begin restoring this area as open space, consistent with the park’s original master plan vision as a natural preserve.
Over the next year, City staff will be developing a new, smaller parking and drop-off area that includes ADA-accessible parking and improved pedestrian and bicycle safety. Once funding is secured through the City’s Capital Improvement Program, construction could begin as early as fall 2026.
We appreciate everyone’s patience as we plan improvements that balance access, safety, and preservation of this beautiful park space. We understand the change has been frustrating for some visitors, especially those used to parking in that area for the splash pad and nearby trail access.
