City of Prescott 2027 General Plan Community Meeting
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
PRESCOTT, AZ (August 25, 2026) – The City of Prescott is inviting the community to help shape the future of Prescott at a General Plan community meeting on Thursday, September 23, 2026, at 5:30 p.m. at the Grace Sparks Activity Center, 824 E. Gurley St., Prescott, AZ 86301. The meeting will be conducted in an open-house format.
The General Plan establishes a long-range vision for Prescott and helps guide decisions related to growth, development, neighborhoods, transportation, infrastructure, housing, economic vitality, natural resources, open space, and overall quality of life. Prescott voters will consider the updated General Plan in November 2027.
New Topics Being Added to the Plan
As part of the General Plan update, several new elements will be incorporated into the plan, including:
- Conservation
- Recreation
- Expanded Circulation, including parking
- Public Transit
- Public Services
- Public Buildings
- Housing
- Conservation, Rehabilitation, and Redevelopment
- Safety, including wildfire
- Bicycling
- Energy and Neighborhood Preservation
- Economic Development
What to Expect
The meeting will focus on gathering community input on these new topics. A brief presentation will begin the meeting, followed by an open-house format where attendees can visit stations focused on the topics that matter most to them and participate in hands-on activities. Residents, business owners, property owners, and community organizations are encouraged to attend. Input is welcome from both long-time Prescott residents and those who have recently made Prescott their home. The ideas and feedback gathered through the community meeting will help inform the vision, goals, policies, and priorities of the updated General Plan.
