Draft Parks and Recreation Master Plan Available for Community Review

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRESCOTT, AZ (October 7, 2026) – The City of Prescott is inviting residents to review the draft Parks & Recreation Master Plan, Connecting People, Parks, and Possibilities, and share their feedback before the plan is finalized.

The plan provides a 10-year framework for Prescott’s parks are recreation system, looking at current facilities and services while identifying future priorities and opportunities. The plan includes community input, an inventory of condition assessment of parks and recreation facilities, and national benchmarking.

The draft plan will be presented during the October 13 City Council study session and will be available online beginning Thursday, October 8. A community survey will also be available October 8-16 for residents to share their thoughts on the draft.

“This draft represents months of work”, said Kristy Diaz-Trahan, the City’s Recreation Services Director. “This truly is your plan and one of my goals throughout this process has been to make sure everyone has an opportunity to participate. Please take a look and tell us what you think!”

Feedback received during the public review period, along with City Council input, will help inform revisions of the plan. The final Parks & Recreation Master Plan is scheduled to return to Council for consideration on November 3.
