City of Prescott Announces Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event

The City of Prescott will host a Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Collection Event for residential trash customers beginning Monday, March 2, through Friday, March 27, 2026. Registration is now open.

This is a contracted curbside collection event, and pre-registration is required. The program provides eligible residents with a safe and convenient way to dispose of unwanted household hazardous waste. Commercial accounts and communities that utilize dumpsters are not eligible to participate.

Accepted materials include, but are not limited to: insecticides, pesticides, gasoline, car batteries, drain and oven cleaners, bleach, oil-based paints, stains, and thinners (five-gallon limit), latex paint (20-gallon limit), adhesives, lithium batteries, and other household hazardous materials.
All items must be placed in a box clearly labeled “HHW” and set 6 to 10 feet from the curb in front of the residence. Materials should be visible and accessible for the contractor on the scheduled collection day.

Residents unsure whether an item is considered hazardous are encouraged to use the City’s Recycle Wizard at www.prescottrecycles.com for guidance on proper disposal.
