The City of Prescott Council members and staff recently learned of the passing for former City Councilmember Alan Carlow, who served on Council from 2011-2013, and served as the Council Liaison to the Community Development Block Grant Committee.
“We want to extend our heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of former Councilmember Alan Carlow,” said Prescott Mayor Phil Goode. “Mr. Carlow served a two-year term, replacing Tammy Linn, who resigned from Council to move out of the City. Following his term, Mr. Carlow continued to be active as a citizen advocate in City and other matters. We are grateful for Mr. Carlow’s service to the Citizens of Prescott.
Carlow served alongside Mayor Marlin Kuykendall and Council Members Charlie Arnold, Steve Blair, Chris Kuknyo, Jim Lamerson and Len Scamardo during the Granite Mountain Hotshots tragedy on June 30, 2013.
One of his contemporaries on council at the time described him as “very focused on improving city services while being mindful of budget challenges. “
