FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
PRESCOTT, AZ (October 14, 2026) – The City of Prescott, in the interest of public safety, would like to make the community aware of street closures and parking restrictions for Halloween, Saturday, October 31, 2026. The closures will include a public safety presence, light towers, portable toilets and additional solid waste containers.
This year the city has taken extra precautions for public safety since Halloween falls on a Saturday this year. With a higher volume of vehicle and pedestrian traffic expected, we ask that residents and visitors plan their evening accordingly, especially in the following two neighborhoods.
The following are street closures for the Mt. Vernon Ave neighborhoods up to Haisley Dr. Traffic control placement will begin at 1:00 p.m., with a hard closure set by 2:00 p.m. Roads will reopen once the Prescott Police Department determines it is safe to do so. - Vernon Ave/ Senator Hwy
- Vernon Ave will be closed from Sheldon St., through Senator Hwy up to Haisley Rd.
- This includes the following side streets:
- Willis St. from Pleasant St. to Virginia St.
- Goodwin St. from Pleasant St. to Virigina St.
- Carleton St from Pleasant St. to Mt. Vernon Ave.
- Oak St. from Virigina St. to Mt. Vernon Ave.
- As well as no vehicle access to Senator Hwy at:
- Summit Pointe Dr.
- Palmer Pl. W.
Gurley St will remain open to both eastbound and westbound traffic.
The following are street closures for the Country Club Dr. and Park Ave neighborhood. Traffic control placement will begin at 2:00 p.m., with a hard closure set by 3:00 p.m. Roads will reopen once the Prescott Police Department determines it is safe to do so. See map below for visual explanation:
- Country Club Dr.
- Country Club Dr. from Park Ave. up to Coronado Ave.
- This includes access to Country Club Dr. at:
- Moreland Dr.
- Aspen St.
- Perry St
- Vista Dr.
- Park Ave.
- While Park Ave. will remain open to vehicle traffic, there will be no parking on Park Ave. from Gurley St. to W. Leroux St.
Residents and visitors alike are reminded that all traffic laws must be obeyed. We remind all pedestrian and vehicle traffic to use caution, slowdown, stay vigilant and be patient. The City of Prescott wishes everyone a safe and successful Halloween.
