City of Prescott to Host Free Shred-A-Thon Event on May 2

The City of Prescott, in partnership with the Arizona Attorney General’s Office, Yavapai College, and AARP, will host a free Shred-A-Thon event to help residents safely dispose of sensitive documents and reduce the risk of identity theft and financial fraud.

The event will take place on Saturday, May 2, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., or until the shred truck reaches capacity, at Yavapai College’s Prescott Campus, 1100 E. Sheldon Street.

Residents are encouraged to bring financial and personal documents for secure, on-site shredding. To help ensure a smooth and efficient process, participants are asked to remain in their vehicles during the event and place all documents in the trunk prior to arrival. A limit of five boxes per vehicle will be enforced.

Accepted materials include most paper documents containing personal or financial information. Items such as binders, binder clips, and electronics will not be accepted.

This event is free and open to the public.

For additional information, please contact the Arizona Attorney General’s Office at (602) 542-2123 or email communityservices@azag.gov
