As part of the FY25 Pavement Management Program, the City of Prescott and their contractor, Cactus Asphalt, are set to begin micro seal operations along Whipple Street and Montezuma Street, from Miller Valley Road to the La Guardia Bridge (as shown in the map below). Micro seal is a mixture of aggregate and emulsion that is applied to the existing asphalt. This work will occur Monday through Friday, April 28 through May 9. Following micro seal operations, crews will return to perform striping operations. Pavement preservation work along Gurley Street will occur in the
coming weeks. Once complete, these improvements will extend pavement life and enhance road quality for Prescott motorists.
Work may occur Monday through Friday, from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. with night work performed as needed. Please note that this work is highly weather dependent and subject to change. One lane of traffic will remain open in each direction. Please be aware of temporary lane restrictions, reduced speeds, rough road conditions, loud noise and flagging operations throughout the work zones. Motorists should expect delays and allocate extra time when traveling through the project area. Access to businesses and residences will be maintained when possible. However, temporary restrictions will occur during micro seal operations.
