Granite Mountain Interagency Hotshot Crew Learning and Tribute Center to Host Events on June 30th

The Granite Mountain Interagency Hotshot Crew Learning and Tribute Center will host a ceremony marking the 12th anniversary of the Hotshots tragedy, followed by a 7th anniversary celebration of the opening of the Center on Monday, June 30 at 1 pm.  The event will feature comments from Center Board Chair John Marsh, Prescott Fire Chief Holger Durre and other dignitaries.  The event will open with a bell ringing by Prescott Fire Department Honor Guard and a performance by the Central Arizona Pipe and Drum Corps, with a musical tribute to the Hotshots.  All are welcome to attend.

The Center honors the 19 Granite Mountain Hotshots who perished battling the Yarnell Hill fire on June 30, 2013.  The Center houses all the items removed from the Station 7 memorial fence that sprang up in the wake of their deaths, and teaches about wildland fire. The Center is located at the Pineridge Marketplace, 3250 Gateway Blvd, near Dillards.   For more information go to GMIHC19.org.
