What draws people to the library? Everything! From books and digital resources to job assistance and creative programming, libraries are essential to thriving communities. National Library Week, April 6–12, 2025, is a time to celebrate the many ways libraries
bring people together, spark imagination, and support lifelong learning.
At Prescott Public Library, we invite the community to join the celebration! Whether you’re a long-time patron or haven’t visited in a while, now is the perfect time to explore all the library has to offer: a place to connect with others, learn new skills,
and pursue your passions through book clubs, story times, concerts, lectures, and more. Prescott Public Library offers a wide array of resources, including seeds for gardening, book club kits, backpacks for hiking, and more!
Whatever draws you in, the library has something for everyone. Whether you’re preparing for a career change, launching a business, raising a family, or embracing retirement, Prescott Public Library is here to support your journey. Libraries serve as hubs for
learning, creativity, and connection, helping people of all ages explore new ideas and opportunities.
Join us for special National Library Week events:
April 1-12, kids can participate in a bookmark contest, and you can vote on the winners from April 14-25.
Beloved children’s character, Llama Llama, will visit story times Tuesday and Wednesday, April 8-9
From April 6 – May 30, library passports will be available at the Ask a Librarian and Youth desks. Adults and youth can complete selected tasks to earn stamps from library staff members. On Friday, May 30th from 9 am – 8 pm, visit the library to redeem your
passport stamps for raffle tickets. Every two stamps collected will earn 1 raffle ticket to the drawing of your choice. Drawings include prizes for a range of ages and will take place Saturday, May 31. Two prizes (one for adults and one for youth) will be
available for early raffle entries from Sunday, May 25 through Thursday, May 29. This program is presented with funding from Friends of the Prescott Public Library.
Join is at the Prescott Farmer’s Market on April 12, where library staff will be sharing information, issuing new library cards, giving out fun craft projects, and Llama Llama will be handing out free books to kids.
This National Library Week, take time to rediscover the library and see how it draws us together as a community. Whether you’re visiting for books, resources, or a place to connect, Prescott Public Library is here for you.
