October 2026: What’s Happening in Prescott

October is here! Here are some upcoming City events, meetings and activities to add to your calendar.

 

All Month | Prescott Police Department Pink Patch Project

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and the Prescott Police Department is participating in its ninth annual Pink Patch Project. Throughout the month, Prescott officers will wear special pink patches to raise awareness and support breast cancer care in our community.

This year’s patch features a special design commemorating America’s 250th anniversary. All proceeds from Pink Patch sales will benefit the Dignity Health Yavapai Regional Medical Center Breast Care Center.

Pink Patches can be purchased online, at the Prescott Police Department or at participating Pink Patch events throughout October.

October 3 | Meet Your City Council & City Staff

7:30 a.m. | Prescott Farmers Market

Stop by the Prescott Farmers Market to meet members of the City Council and City staff. The Mayor Pro Tem will be joined by Interim Police Chief Brambila and Public Works staff. Come say hello and learn more about the people who serve the Prescott community.

October 7 | Coffee with a Cop

9 a.m. | The Porch

Join the Prescott Police Department for coffee and conversation. There’s no formal presentation or agenda. Just grab a cup of coffee, meet some of Prescott’s officers, ask questions, share what’s on your mind or stop by to say hello.

October 9 | Halloween Trick-or-Treat Bag Bash

2 p.m. | Grace M. Sparkes Activity Center

Get creative with the Recreation Services team and make your own trick-or-treat bag! Kids can paint and decorate their bags with Halloween colors, spooky characters and festive designs.

Registration is required.

October 12 | Prescott Public Library Closed for Staff Training

Prescott Public Library will be closed Monday, October 12, for its annual staff training day. The library will reopen Tuesday, October 13.

Even when the library doors are closed, you can access eBooks, online resources, streaming video and more 24/7 through the library’s online services.

October 12 | Airport Emergency Response Exercise

Prescott Regional Airport

Prescott Regional Airport will conduct a full-scale emergency response exercise in coordination with local response agencies. Residents may see increased emergency vehicles and personnel near the airport during the exercise.

This is a planned training exercise. There is no threat to the public.

October 13 | City Council Meeting

1 p.m. | City Hall

Attend the Prescott City Council meeting in person or online to stay informed about matters affecting the community and hear discussions about upcoming City decisions.

October 14 | Willow Lake Guided Walk

3 p.m. | Willow Lake

Join local wildlife expert Walt Anderson and butterfly enthusiast Becky Hardy for an easy guided walk around the south side of Willow Lake. Participants should wear sturdy shoes and dress in layers.

October 14 | Willow Lake Community Open House

4 p.m. | Phippen Museum

Learn more about the Willow Lake Management Plan at this community open house. Displays and City staff will be available to answer questions. Stop by anytime between 4 and 6 p.m. and stay as long as you’d like. All are welcome.

October 21 | Long-Term Water Management Plan Community Meeting

1–3 p.m. | Prescott Public Library

The City of Prescott is developing a Long-Term Water Management Plan to help ensure reliable water supplies for current and future needs.

Join City staff to learn more about Prescott’s water supplies, current and future water needs, planning strategies and opportunities for conservation and improved efficiency.

The meeting will begin with a 45-minute presentation about the plan and planning process, followed by opportunities to talk with City representatives at informational stations throughout the room. A short survey and water conservation resources will also be available.

If you can’t attend the meeting, you can still participate by taking the community survey. Your input will help inform the City’s Water Resources team as it develops the first draft of the plan.

October 21 | Talk of the Town with City Council

4 p.m. | 99.9 FM

Tune in to Talk of the Town for a conversation with Mayor Cathey Rusing and Mayor Pro Tem about current City happenings and community updates.

October 24 | Prescott Regional Airport Airfest

11 a.m. | Prescott Regional Airport

Celebrate aviation at the Prescott Regional Airport’s second annual Airfest! This free, family-friendly event will feature aircraft, military displays, food trucks and more.

Kids can also get hands-on with the Prescott Fire Department’s Touch-a-Truck.
