PRESCOTT FLOODING & EMERGENCY INFORMATION

Active Emergency

Last updated: November 1, 2026 at 9:00 PM

The City of Prescott is experiencing significant flooding due to ongoing rainfall. Flooded roadways, rising creek levels, and changing conditions are creating dangerous situations throughout the community.

Residents are strongly encouraged to stay home unless travel is absolutely necessary. Conditions can change quickly, and additional road closures and evacuation notices may be issued.

This page will be updated as new information becomes available. Please check back regularly for the latest updates.

Emergency Alerts & Evacuation Information

Evacuation Zones: SET – BE ALERT

Due to ongoing flooding, portions of the Prescott area have been placed on SET – BE ALERT status through the Yavapai County emergency notification system, Genasys.

If your area is shown in yellow on the evacuation zone map, please take the following precautions:

  • Be ready to evacuate at a moment’s notice. Conditions may change quickly.

  • Identify where you will go and be prepared to relocate to a designated shelter if an evacuation announcement is issued.

  • If you need additional time to evacuate, or have pets or livestock, leave now rather than waiting for an evacuation order.

  • Gather essential items, medications, important documents, and supplies for your household.

What does SET mean?

SET indicates a potential threat to life and/or property. It is not yet an evacuation order, but residents should be prepared to leave immediately if conditions change.

Flood Safety Information

Please Stay Off the Roads

Significant flooding is occurring throughout Prescott, and additional rainfall is creating a high potential for creeks to overflow. Several streets are already experiencing flooding, making travel dangerous.

Please stay home unless travel is absolutely necessary. Flood conditions can change quickly, and roads that are passable one moment may become dangerous the next.

If you encounter a flooded roadway:

  • Turn around. Do not attempt to drive through floodwater.

  • Never drive around road closure barricades.

  • Stay away from overflowing creeks and fast-moving water.

  • Give emergency responders room to do their jobs.

Your safety is our priority. Please take these conditions seriously, avoid unnecessary travel, and share this information with friends and neighbors.

Watson Lake Safety Alert

Due to elevated water levels and increased flows, the City of Prescott is asking everyone to stay off the water at Watson Lake.

Water levels may rise over the top of the dam, creating extremely dangerous conditions for anyone on the water.

For your safety, please stay off the water until conditions improve.

Free Sand & Sandbags Available

With continued rainfall and flooding expected throughout Prescott, free sand and sandbags are available to residents to help protect their homes and property.

Residents must bring their own shovel to fill the sandbags.

Pickup Locations

I would organize these into two groups to make the list easier to navigate.

City of Prescott and Yavapai County locations

Location Address
Prescott Fire Station 333 White Spar Road
Prescott Fire Station 1980 Club House Drive, near the airport
Prescott/Central Fire Station 1700 Iron Springs Road

Please take precautions, stay safe, and continue to monitor weather and flooding conditions.
