Notice is hereby given that the Prescott City Council will consider and possibly adopt a onetime fee (per copy) of $46.00, per video-hour reviewed, “Video Recording Copy Fee”. The fee will be discussed, and possibly adopted at the regularly scheduled City Council meeting on November 19, 2024, at 3:00 pm located in the City Council Chambers at Prescott City Hall, 201 N. Montezuma Street, Prescott, AZ 86301. The new and increased fees and charges will become effective January 1, 2025, after the adoption of these new and increased fees by the Prescott City Council.

The fee will help cover the costs for the time reviewing, transmitting, making a copy of, and as necessary, redacting a video recording for public records requests filed for a copy of a law enforcement video recording and this fee is allowed to be charged pursuant to Arizona Revised Statutes § 39-129. The Fee will apply to all persons who submit a public record request for a copy of a law enforcement video recording, except a victim of the criminal offense related to the recording, the victim’s attorney on behalf of the victim, or an immediate family member of the victim if the victim is killed or incapacitated, as further delineated in Arizona Revised Statutes § 39-127.
