Just a short 4-mile drive from Prescott. Although it spans 15 acres, this smaller lake offers numerous recreational activities to unwind and have a great time. From picnics to hiking, canoeing, kayaking, and boating, there’s something for everyone. Electronic motors are permitted for boating, but swimming is not allowed. Take advantage of the public boat ramp if you plan to bring your own boat. If you don’t have your own kayaks or canoes, you can easily rent them during lake hours from Prescott Outdoors.
Goldwater Lake is open year-round, with specific hours varying based on the season. If you prefer lakeside relaxation over water activities, there are plenty of options. The lake is encompassed by hiking trails that link to the Prescott National Forest, along with amenities like picnic tables, grills, horseshoe pits, a sand volleyball court, and a children’s playground. Restrooms are also available on-site. Located just 9 minutes from Prescott, Goldwater Lake is a stunning destination where the entire family can bask in the joys of summer.
