The Prescott City Council and Staff learned today of the passing of former City Mayor, Rowle P. Simmons.
“On behalf of the Prescott City Council and staff, I would like to offer our sincere condolences to Rowle’s family and friends,” said Mayor Phil Goode. “I would also like to extend our gratitude for his service to our community, both with the City of Prescott and Yavapai County.”
Mr. Simmons was elected as Prescott City Mayor in 2001 and served three terms until 2007. Later, Simmons served as Yavapai County Supervisor from 2013 – 2020. Simmons was a big advocate of regional cooperation and reached out to neighboring communities while he was Mayor. During his three terms as Mayor, the Granite Street Parking Garage was built, the library was remodeled and the Adult Center, which was later named after Mr. Simmons, was built.
