Upcoming Community Meeting for New Fire Stations and Police Facility Projects

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRESCOTT, AZ (October 27, 2026) – The City of Prescott and their project teams invite you to
attend a community meeting to see the current designs for three (3) new Fire Stations and a
Police Substation and Property/Evidence Facility. The meeting will be held at The Center, 1280
E Rosser Street, on Wednesday, November 18 from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and will start with an
overview presentation that will run on a loop to allow attendees to view upon arrival before
transitioning to an open house format. This meeting will provide an opportunity to learn more
about these new public safety facilities and speak with the project team.

Fire Stations: The new fire stations (76, 73 & 72) will be constructed on City-owned properties.
Station 76 will be located at 1618 Sundog Ranch Road. Station 73 will be located at 4728 State
Route 89 at the northwest corner of the Phippen Roundabout, near the Constellation Trailhead
parking area. Station 72 will be located at 530 6th Street. The new stations will be optimally
located to help achieve a reduction in response times for Prescott residents. The addition of
new stations will enhance safety, health and wellness for personnel and the day-to-day
efficiencies of all activities.

Police Substation and Property/Evidence Facility: The new Police facility will be constructed
at the intersection of Prescott Lakes Parkway and Storm Ranch Parkway to reduce response
times and be conveniently located across the street from the County Justice Center and
Detention Center. The project will consolidate multiple functions that are currently spread across
various inadequate existing facilities and will centralize operations. The new facility will include:
a property and evidence storage warehouse, K9 and animal control area, a patrol substation,
SWAT vehicle and Mobile Command Post storage, and a secure vehicle impound area reserved
for property or evidence. The site will also accommodate future phases, including a crime lab
and an indoor shooting range.

The new fire stations and police facility are a critical component of the City’s public safety
improvements prioritized by both City Council and residents, funded through the voter-approved
Proposition 478 dedicated sales tax. The development of these new facilities is still in the design
phase. Construction is expected to begin in mid-2027.
