Posted Wednesday, April 22, 2026
Notice is hereby given that the City of Prescott Council will hold a public hearing for the Fiscal Year 2027 property tax levy at its public meeting on June 23, 2026, and will be considering adopting its final property tax levy (pursuant to A.R.S. § 42-17151) for Fiscal Year 2027 at its public meeting of July 14, 2026.
The Council has the statutory authority to establish the primary property tax levy to meet the operating needs of the City of Prescott. The City is considering increasing its primary property tax up-to a maximum increase of $141,148 or 6.12% over last year’s levy, exclusive of new construction. The total levy will increase from $2,304,514 in fiscal year 2026 to $2,492,987 in fiscal year 2027. This change results in tax rates rising from 0.2329 per $100 of assessed value to 0.2374 per $100 of assessed value. The statutory authority and formula for setting Property Tax Levy for the City is A.R.S. § 42-17051. The maximum proposed tax increase will cause the City’s primary property taxes on a $100,000 home to increase by $1.37 from $22.37 to $23.74. See attached for the full calculation and levy limit worksheet.
This web-site notification is being made pursuant to A.R.S. 9-499.15(B)(3). Additionally, the City is providing the requisite Truth in Taxation Hearing Notice required by A.R.S. 42-17107 separately.
The June 23, 2026, and July 14, 2026, meetings will be held at 3:00 pm in the City Council Chambers at 201 North Montezuma Street.
