A Home of My Own!

A Home of My Own! Program

In response to the current workforce housing crisis Community Development has approval to use three single family home plans that are available for anyone to use as plans to build their home within the City of Prescott. The plans are available for use at no cost within the City of Prescott using Yavapai County’s A Home of My Own Program Plans.

*The City of Prescott disclaims all liability for the use of the plans outside of the City’s A Home of My Own! Program, including all requirements of that Program. Any such use is at the user’s own risk.

How big are the homes?

The home plans include one, two and three bedroom designs.

How do I get started after I pick the plan I want?

First thing is to read and fully understand, “A Home of My Own submittal requirements“, this document will need to be signed and submitted with your permit. Click on a plan, in the drop down you will find the individual documents for that plan. These documents will need to be downloaded to your computer or a thumb drive. Next, go to our Etrakit Portal to create an account and start the permit process. When instructed, upload the required documents, construction plans, truss calculations, and the signed submittal requirements.

What do I need to know?

Home owners are still responsible for financing their home and working with their contractor to ensure the home plans fit on their lot. Septic permit, geotechnical report and all other information for permitting is still required. Please review Building Safety’s A Home of My Own submittal requirements for information specific to this program.
