An Underground Utility permit is required for any project where applicants require a water service connection, irrigation connection andor a sewer lateral connection to public mains.  Dry utilities such as gas, electric, and cable are constructed under a Building permit. Please note that any work in the Right of Way will also require a ROW permit (wet or dry).

STEP ONE: GATHER ALL MATERIALS

Please gather the following information before submitting your application:

  1. The type of work to be performed (utility connection type, asphalt cut, driveway apron, curb replacement, etc)
  2. When the work will be done
  3. Who will be performing the work (a licensed and bonded contractor is required with proper credentials held with the registrar of contractors for all work in the ROW) the contractor’s license number
  4. Where the work is to be done in relation to the ROW (behind curb, across the entire roadway, etc.).
