The City’s Sundog WWTP receives septage from commercial haulers and recreational vehicles at its septage station, which was constructed in the 1980s and upgraded several times since. The vehicle offloading area lacks containment for wastewater spills and equipment wash-down. During a recent Stormwater Pollution Prevention inspection by ADEQ, the lack of spill containment resulted in a Notice of Opportunity to Correct Deficiencies (NOC). This project is necessary to provide stormwater pollution prevention at the site and to comply with the terms of the NOC.
The project generally consists of removing and replacing the septage station off-load driveway and the installation of a catch basin in the off-load driveway and a containment curb along the perimeter of the septage station vault.
