Construction Hydrant Meters are available through the City of Prescott for construction projects that require water, prior to the release of a water meter for the construction site.
A construction hydrant meter may be supplied only within the City of Prescott limits. Upon request, a temporary hydrant meter may be used where there is no water source available for construction work or permitted City events. Construction hydrant meters are equipped with a reduced pressure back flow assembly which is tested upon installation by the City’s Water Protection division.
It is the responsibility of the applicant to protect the construction hydrant meter/RP assembly. Hydrants should be opened during daily use and shut at night. The customer shall operate the assembly using the meter gate valve only.
To prevent damage to the complete assembly during winter months or freezing temperatures, follow the instructions in the document below:
