The Field Operations personnel are dedicated to managing the city’s extensive network of traffic control and street name signs, amounting to approximately 15,000 signs. Our responsibilities include assembly, installation, repair, and maintenance of these signs, as well as providing support for special events. For signs that are critical to public safety, such as Stop, Yield, Do-Not-Enter, and One-Way signs, we prioritize their replacement within 24 hours in case of any damage or loss, as these are treated as emergencies.
For other types of signs, including those related to parking, speed limits, and various warning signs (such as Deer, Pedestrian, No Outlet), our approach involves a more scheduled maintenance and installation program. We operate on a zone-based system, where these requests are evaluated and addressed in a planned and timely manner, ensuring efficient and organized service throughout different areas of the city.
