Beginning the week of October 14th, 2024, there will be changes to the Trash and Recycling Routes. Please use the link below to determine if these changes will affect your collection day.
Reminder: All containers must be curbside by 6am
Turn on, stop or transfer trash & recycling services.
We can repair many issues with your garbage or recycling can, please fill out our form and we will get back to you on the best option.
We understand that delayed trash and recycling collection is disruptive and inconvenient and the decision to suspend service is never taken lightly. Our drivers hold commercial licenses because our trucks are among the largest in the city’s fleet with all the challenges and responsibilities of safety as our priority. We are collecting garbage and recyclables this week on your regularly scheduled day.
When there is snow or other significant weather, experienced members of the solid waste team will check the day’s routes in plow-mounted vehicles. Often those trucks can clear minor snowpack and ice for safe collection, however, when active storms or snow accumulations obscure views of other vehicles, pedestrians or features of the roads like slope/grade, curbs, gutters, fences, mailboxes, gas and water meters and other personal and private property, it is too dangerous to proceed, and service will be suspended. Such was the case last week as multiple storms hit the city. Residents were encouraged to avoid non-urgent travel; schools and many public and private businesses were closed for concerns of safety.
We are collecting garbage and recyclables this week on your regularly scheduled day. We would like to remind our valued customers of the variety of cost-effective services provided for your convenience including separate bins for trash and recycling, bulk trash and Christmas Tree collection, household hazardous waste and electronics disposal. For more information on all of our services, please visit our website at www.PrescottRecycles.com.
Respectfully,
Your City of Prescott, Solid Waste Team
